LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — After back-to-back break-ins forced her restaurant to close earlier this year, chef Brandi Bond — known as Chef B — has relaunched as a private chef hosting curated, members-only dinners and catered events.
Pretty Soul Kitchen was among more than a dozen West Valley businesses targeted in a crime spree. Surveillance video captured one of the break-ins: a thief smashing through a window, crawling through broken glass, ransacking the restaurant, and leaving with cash and liquor. The repeated incidents caused hundreds of dollars in damage and ultimately led Bond to close the restaurant this spring.
A new direction
Rather than rebuild the same business, Bond said a trip to Greece shaped a new vision for her culinary career.
“When I was in Greece, I had an opportunity to try some of the most delicious foods,” Bond said. “I brought back seasoning and olive oil and just the memory of the entire experience.”
That trip led her to trade a traditional restaurant model for curated private dining experiences. Her first event, the Greek Escape, sold out. A second event, Brunch After Dark, followed. Her third exclusive dinner — A Summer in Tuscany — is scheduled for July 22.

‘Freedom’ in the new model
Bond said the shift has changed how she approaches her work.
“I really did feel like having the Southern cuisine restaurant; I was stuck in a box doing one type of food,” Bond said. “And I’m bigger than that.”
She said the new format has given her room to grow.
“Freedom. I feel like I have a lot more freedom to just live and be creative,” Bond said.
Bond said the decision to pivot came down to adapting to circumstances.
“Changing is inevitable. So it’s about learning to be comfortable when it’s uncomfortable, and being comfortable with changing,” she said.
She added: “Tapping into what I love and who I truly am at my core has gotten me to this point in life in general, so why not continue to tap into that?”
