LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Clark County School District has made its selection for the next possible Superintendent.
During a Trustee board meeting Thursday, Jhone Ebert was selected to lead the nation’s fifth-largest school district. From here, Trustees will officially offer her the role of Superintendent at a later date.
Ebert currently serves as the state’s Superintendent of Public Instruction and has been in the role since 2019 when then-Governor Steve Sisolak appointed her to the role.
Ebert will return to CCSD after serving six years with the Nevada Department of Education, and a brief three-year tenure with the New York State Education Department.
Ebert will be the first full-time Superintendent for the district since Dr. Jesus Jara resigned early last year.
Dr. Brenda Larsen-Mitchell is currently serving as interim Superintendent.
