LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – After previously announcing that it would close permanently at the end of the school year, Democracy Preparatory at the Agassi Campus in Las Vegas announced that it will remain open for three more years.

“We are so thankful for the outpouring of support we received from families, the Las Vegas community and our donors, including the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education which continues to be dedicated to our mission,” a spokesperson for Democracy Prep said. “Our leadership team has worked tirelessly to develop a new strategy that will keep the high school open so all current students will graduate from DPACHS. We will have more information to share in the coming weeks about the specific plans for our growth strategy.”

The school added that it plans to partner with families “in much more powerful ways as we seek to earn at least a 3-star out of 5-star rating at our elementary school this spring.” The school also pledged to remain within its budget on an annual basis.

Democracy Prep is hosting a family town hall at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday to share details about the new plan.
