LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 75-year-old Las Vegas man died after a multi-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Spring Mountain Road near the Interstate 15 northbound on-ramp, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded about 2:45 p.m. July 18 to eastbound Spring Mountain Road just east of the westbound-to-I-15 northbound on-ramp in Clark County, the agency said.

A preliminary investigation found that a black 2012 Scion xD was traveling east when the driver made an unsafe lane change occured and struck a light blue 2024 Toyota Corolla, NHP said. The Scion then hit the center median curb, crossed into the westbound lanes and collided with a silver 2026 Toyota Tacoma pickup, authorities said.
The driver and passenger of the Corolla were not taken from the scene, NHP said. The driver and passenger of the Tacoma were taken to a local hospital with injuries.
The Scion’s driver, identified as Richard Scott King of Las Vegas, was also taken to a local hospital. NHP said he later died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team, authorities said.
The agency’s Southern Command has investigated 37 fatal crashes resulting in 40 deaths so far this year.
