LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The man accused of causing a deadly North Las Vegas crash that killed a teen girl and severely injured another, is facing two new DUI charges, according to court records.
Triquan Huges is facing two felony DUI charges related to the crash that killed a 17-year-old girl and put another 19-year-old in the hospital. He is facing multiple charges including reckless driving, child abuse, and driving without a license.
During a Wednesday hearing, prosecutors added two felony DUI charges and asked North Las Vegas Judge Kalani Hoo to increase Huges’ bail amount, which was initially set at $250,000.
According to an arrest report, police officers described a strong odor of alcohol coming from Huges and his vehicle. Huges would also refuse a blood draw at the scene of the crash, but police would later receive a search warrant for one.
Court records show Huges has posted bail, but the judge has held off making a decision to allow time to review the potential increase.
Huges is due back in court on Thursday, May 7 to determine if bail will increase.
