HENDERSON (FOX5) — Henderson residents will have the chance to hit the ice for free at America First Center, the practice home of the Henderson Silver Knights.

The center will host year-round skating events hosted by the City of Henderson starting this month.

Free skate times and dates are on the following dates:

    • Tuesday, June 9 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
    • Wednesday, June 17 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
    • Saturday, June 27 from 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
    • Wednesday, July 1 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
    • Saturday, July 11 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. (In celebration of Parks and Recreation Month)
    • Saturday, July 25 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
    • Sunday, Aug. 2 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
    • Saturday, Oct. 3 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. (coincides with Hot Rod Days)
    • Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (coincides with National Night Out)
    • Saturday, Nov. 21 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. (coincides with F1)

The events are open to skaters of all ages and skill levels. Attendees may bring their own skates, and complimentary rentals will be offered at the arena on select dates.

Advance registration is required, with spots opening about three weeks before each event. Space is limited and expected to fill quickly.
