LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Golden Knights may be a hockey team, but they got the better of the Raiders on the softball diamond.
The Knights beat the Raiders 37-28 in the annual Battle for Vegas slow-pitch softball game, an event that raised $250,000 for local charities, organizers said.

The fundraising total included a $50,000 donation from the Athletics, adding to proceeds generated by the game.
Reilly Smith, a captain for the Golden Knights’ team, said the event’s biggest impact is what it returns to the community.
“The event has built and expanded the support we have in the community … to give back to this community,” Smith said. “I’m probably more proud of this than anything in my career.”
Fans also got a flyover from the Air Force Thunderbirds, and Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter performed the national anthem.
