LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The 28-year-old Las Vegas man accused of critically injuring a family from the UK in a hit-and-run crash earlier this year pleaded guilty on Monday.
Gavin Caci pleaded guilty to eight felonies, including DUI, reckless driving, and duty to stop at the scene of a crash, just as his jury trial was scheduled to begin. Caci had previously pleaded not guilty in March.
The judge accepted his change of plea and allowed him to remain out of custody on high-level electronic monitoring, under the condition that he surrender his passport.
The charges stem from a February 8 crash near Harmon Avenue and Audrie Lane. The collision left a mother and her toddler with life-threatening injuries, while a 38-year-old man sustained minor injuries. All three have since recovered and returned home to the UK weeks after the incident, according to a video posted by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

According to grand jury evidence, Caci was driving a 2026 Tesla Model Y along Harmon Avenue when the vehicle drifted right, mounted the sidewalk, and struck the family as they waited at a corner traffic light.
Rear-camera footage from the Tesla captured the impact, showing the stroller skidding into the street as the woman and child were thrown. Caci then fled the scene and was later captured on video stopping in a nearby TopGolf parking lot.
Caci is slated to be sentenced on October 13.
