LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Clark County commissioners approved permits for construction of Nevada’s first standalone children’s hospital during a meeting on Wednesday.
The eight-story facility is slated to also feature a heliport and will be located at UNLV’s Harry Reid Research and Technology Park near the 215 Beltway and Durango Drive.
“Today’s historic approval of Nevada’s first stand alone pediatric hospital, by the Clark County Commission, will forever change healthcare in southern Nevada,” commissioner Michael Naft said in a statement.

“The significant investment being made by Intermountain will save lives while diversifying our economy and I could not be more proud to have moved it forward.”
A rendering of the hospital was also released during the meeting.

Intermountain Health announced the project back in 2024, calling it a more than $1 billion investment aimed at bringing specialized pediatric care closer to home for Nevada families.
A groundbreaking date has not yet been set but the facility is expected to be completed by 2030, officials say.
