LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Emergency daytime cooling stations are open across Southern Nevada from Aug. 6 to Aug. 11, 2026, as an extreme heat warning grips the region, according to local officials.
The National Weather Service issued an extreme heat warning for Clark County, prompting the activation of the daytime shelters to provide residents and visitors with respite and protection from dangerous temperatures.
Cooling stations are located at various public facilities throughout Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, Laughlin and Mesquite.
Participating locations include county recreation centers, government facilities, non-profit offices and regional libraries.

Several locations—including the Courtyard Homeless Resource Center, Whitney Recreation Center, Boulder City Library, and Laughlin’s American Legion—are equipped to accommodate pets on a leash or in a carrier.
Officials are encouraging anyone in need of shelter or hydration to visit the nearest cooling station.
