The team will now wait to see who emerges from the second half of the season, which opens Tuesday, June 23. They’ll then host that team in a best-of-three PCL League Championship Series in September.
Over on the other side in the International League, the Memphis Redbirds, Triple-A affiliates of the St. Louis Cardinals, also locked up their first-half title, defeating the Nashville Sounds 10-8 to finish with a 47-28 record.
The Aviators now sit at 44-28 on the year, capping a strong first half that included winning four of six games against Round Rock in their final homestand.
From here, the team heads out on a season-long, two-week road trip to face the Tacoma Rainiers and Reno Aces before returning home on Tuesday, July 7 for a six-game series against the Rainiers before the All-Star break.
The Triple-A National Championship Game is slated to be held at the Las Vegas Ballpark for the fifth straight year on Saturday, September 26.
