LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – One day after modifying its strike deadline to reach a contract agreement with downtown Las Vegas hotels, the culinary union has reached a tentative deal with three of those properties.
On Feb. 1, Culinary Workers Union Local 226 announced on social media that it has come to terms with the Circa Resort & Casino, The D Las Vegas Hotel & Casino and the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino.
The new contract would cover approximately 780 hospitality workers. The union has set a Feb. 2 deadline to reach a deal with the Sahara and Virgin hotels. It pushed the deadline back to Feb. 5 for the Rio and the seven remaining uncontracted downtown hotels: Binion’s, Downtown Grand, El Cortez, Four Queens, Fremont, Golden Nugget, and Main Street.
The union announced that it would begin a 36-hour informational picket at 10 a.m. on Feb. 2.
