LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police have arrested a suspect in a shooting that left one person dead and another injured last week in the east valley.
Detectives identified Abdul Muhammad, 39, as the suspect in the case, according to an update released by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
On Tuesday, June 24, Las Vegas police located Muhammad and took him into custody, police said.
He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
Muhammad was booked on charges of open murder with a deadly weapon, two counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, police said.

The shooting was reported around 9:03 p.m. June 18 at a laundromat parking lot in the 4900 block of East Craig Road, police said.
Officers found an adult man and an adult woman in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police said officers provided aid, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, police said.
Investigators learned the victims had been involved in a verbal altercation with another adult man before the suspect pulled out a gun and fired multiple rounds at them, police said.
The suspect left the area before officers arrived.
Police said the victim’s identity and the official cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
