LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas Fire & Rescue crews responded to a residential fire Thursday morning after multiple 911 callers reported visible smoke and one caller said they heard an explosion.

Fire crews began receiving the calls around 9:40 a.m. for a single-story home at 6280 Hill Haven Ave., according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.

Dispatchers advised people at the scene to evacuate. Crews arrived and initially took an offensive approach to contain the fire, officials said.

During operations, part of the roof collapsed, and crews changed to a defensive strategy, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue said.

Officials said 12 units were on scene.
