LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Las Vegas police officer has been suspended without pay after being arrested Wednesday on theft charges.
Officer Antonio Chavez was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on September 9 and is facing one count of theft ($25k – $100k), four counts of burglary of a business, and one count of perjury.
According to police, Chavez has been employed with LVMPD since 2020 and is currently assigned to the Community Safety Division, Northwest Area Command. He has been placed on suspension of police powers without pay pending further investigation.

Chavez is due in court on Thursday.
