According to the National Weather Service for Las Vegas, the wind advisory started 10 a.m. Monday morning and is expected to last until 6 a.m. Tuesday for the valley and the Spring Mountains. Gusts up to 50 mph are possible.

The weather service says sudden and dangerous crosswinds are possible and to secure outdoor items. Blowing dust and debris can be expected as well as hazardous boating conditions.

“The strongest of these winds are expected during the overnight hours,” NWS says.

Due to wind, there are gate hold and taxi delays between 16 minutes and 30 minutes since 2:30 p.m.

The outage cause is under investigation, but there are less than five people with no power near Desert Inn Road and the Pecos-McLeod Interconnect.
