LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday in a crash at East Serene Avenue and Spencer Street, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Police said the crash happened around 1:47 a.m. when a motorcycle was traveling northbound on Spencer and entered the intersection from the left of two northbound lanes. Investigators said a Volkswagen SUV turned left from eastbound Serene onto Spencer against a red left-turn arrow, crossing into the motorcycle’s path.
The motorcycle struck the left side of the Volkswagen, causing major damage to both vehicles, police said. The motorcyclist suffered deadly injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The SUV driver suffered minor injuries, showed signs of impairment and was arrested on DUI-related charges, police said.
The motorcyclist’s death marks the 64th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2026. The crash remains under investigation by LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section. The motorcycle rider’s identity is expected to be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
