LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — With county election departments preparing to send out general election mail ballots next week, the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office released its official 2026 Ballot Question Guide to help voters evaluate two major constitutional amendments and several local measures.
The nonpartisan guide outlines statewide Question 6, which proposes amending the Nevada Constitution to establish abortion access as an individual right, and statewide Question 7, which would require voters to present photo identification to cast ballots in person or verify identification for mail ballots.
Both measures previously passed during the 2024 general election and must be approved by voters a second time in 2026 to officially amend the Nevada Constitution.
No statewide initiatives numbered 1 through 5 will appear on the November ballot after other circulating petitions failed to gather enough verified signatures to qualify.

“Voters will make decisions this November that could change the Nevada Constitution and directly affect their own communities,” Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar said in a statement. “Nevadans deserve clear, nonpartisan information about what they are being asked to decide before they vote.”
For the first time, the state is providing American Sign Language translations for the statewide constitutional questions alongside written translations in nine languages, including Spanish, Tagalog, Chinese, Amharic, Arabic, Farsi, Korean, Thai and Vietnamese.
In Clark County, voters will also encounter two local municipal ballot measures in Boulder City regarding data center land-use regulations and Capital Improvement Fund allocations. Other local ballot initiatives are set for Churchill, Douglas, Lincoln and Washoe counties.
Mail ballots have already been dispatched to military, overseas and out-of-state voters. County election officials across Nevada will begin mailing ballots to all active registered voters who have not opted out between Oct. 5 and Oct. 8.
Key Dates for the 2026 General Election:
- Oct. 17 – Oct. 30: In-person early voting period.
- Oct. 20: Deadline to register or update voter registration to receive a ballot by mail.
- Nov. 3 (Election Day): Polling locations open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Nov. 7: Final deadline for county election offices to receive mail-in ballots postmarked on or before Election Day.
Eligible Nevadans may still register to vote online or in person during early voting and on Election Day at designated county polling sites.
