LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The NBA Summer League is underway at Thomas & Mack Center, drawing all 30 teams and more than 120,000 fans over 11 days — and it’s happening as Las Vegas inches closer to landing its own NBA franchise. Bill Foley and local investors are among those bidding on an expansion team, with the league targeting a 2028-29 launch for franchises in Las Vegas and Seattle. Meanwhile, Raiders training camp opens next month with a quarterback competition between Kirk Cousins, Fernando Mendoza and Aidan O’Connell, UNLV football heads into Mountain West Media Days, and the College Football Playoff National Championship is set to come to Las Vegas next year.
