LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A $5,000 reward was announced for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction for swastikas placed on Aaron Ford campaign ads.
FOX5 was sent viewer photos of the defacement. A swastika was painted across an image of California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who has endorsed Ford in the race for Nevada governor. FOX5 crews and viewers saw the defaced ads near Las Vegas Boulevard and Starr, and Buffalo and Sunset.
David Kohlmeier, a former Henderson and New York Police Department officer known as “The CrimeSolver,” condemned the vandalism and announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for defacing political signs.

“The political sign shows a swastika painted across Newsom’s face,” Kohlmeier said. “This isn’t the only case of a defaced billboard in the valley.”
Second billboard targeted along I-215
Kohlmeier pointed to a separate incident along Interstate 215, where someone reportedly painted a mustache on an image of Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo.
“We have yet to find out who the perpetrators are in either case,” Kohlmeier said. “That has motivated me as The CrimeSolver, to offer a reward of $5,000 to any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who defaced the political signs.”
Ford campaign, Las Vegas mayor respond
A spokesperson for the Ford campaign said the campaign “unequivocally condemns heinous hate symbols.”
“They are a deeply unfortunate reflection of the toxicity created by Lombardo campaigns’ ceaseless lies and smears,” the spokesperson said. “We call on them to join us in affirming that hatred has no place in this race and to take down the defaced billboard.”
Las Vegas Mayor Berkley also issued a statement condemning the incidents.
“When I learned of the defacing of political signs with Nazi swastikas in our city, I was disgusted and appalled,” Berkley said. “That type of behavior does not reflect the values of Las Vegas and will not be tolerated. I understand the authorities are investigating these incidents and once caught the perpetrator will be prosecuted.”
No suspects identified
No suspect has been identified or arrested in connection with either reported act of vandalism. Both incidents remain under investigation.
