LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Nevada Conservation League has endorsed Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford in the 2026 race for governor, the organization announced Wednesday.
Deputy Director Christi Cabrera-Georgeson said the group is backing Ford because of his record on clean energy and environmental protection, along with consumer issues.
“Aaron Ford has consistently demonstrated a commitment to protecting Nevada’s environment while standing up for working families across our state,” Cabrera-Georgeson said in a statement.

Ford, a Democratic candidate for governor, said he was “honored” to receive the endorsement and pointed to work he said he has done as attorney general to push back against pollution and federal actions he said threatened clean energy. He also cited his prior service in the Nevada Legislature, including as Senate majority leader.
The endorsement comes as conservation and energy issues are expected to be a key part of the 2026 campaign, particularly in a state where growth, water concerns and public lands policy continue to shape statewide politics.
The Nevada Conservation League said it plans to announce additional endorsements for the 2026 election cycle.
