LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Nevada’s unemployment rate held steady in April, while job growth continued across the state.
The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) reports the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.3% in April 2026 compared to March.
The state’s labor force fell by 3,475 people over the month.

Nevada’s seasonally adjusted total nonfarm employment reached 1,610,800 jobs, up 2,900 jobs from March and up 1.9% over the past year.
In Southern Nevada, Las Vegas added 300 jobs since March (less than 0.1%) and was up 20,900 jobs (1.8%) from April 2025.
Reno’s job total was unchanged from March, but rose by 5,200 jobs (1.8%) over the year. Carson City lost 100 jobs from March (-0.3%) and showed no change compared to April 2025.
