LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — City leaders gathered to celebrate a brand new Olympic-sized outdoor pool at the Pavilion Center pool complex in Summerlin.

The new pool joins the existing indoor pool and officially opens to swimmers on Monday. The city says the upgrade creates a unique two-pool competition site for Las Vegas, capable of hosting local, regional and national swim meets.

“This is an amazing day for the city of Las Vegas. We haven’t opened an outdoor Olympic-sized swimming pool in at least two decades, and it’s something that the community has really needed,” said Maggie Plaster, director of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs for the City of Las Vegas.
