LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The North Las Vegas Fire Department is responding to a fire near I-15 and Lake Mead Friday morning.

The incident was reported just before 7:30 a.m. along West Tonopah Avenue in North Las Vegas.
Fire officials say crews saw heavy smoke coming from a commercial building and began defensive operations to contain the fire.
All five people inside had already evacuated safely.
Crews also found three dogs in a backyard and returned them to their owners. No injuries were reported, fire officials add.
The fire has been knocked down as of 9 a.m.
The cause remains under investigation.
