LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police search and rescue teams are investigating several possible human bones found in the mountainous areas near Frenchman Mountain Monday afternoon.
FOX5 was the first to find out about the discovery. Police tell us a hiker first alerted authorities after finding a skull and several bones while out on the mountain.
Police say the terrain is difficult to hike but did locate the findings.
Detectives do believe they are human remains. The coroner’s office is now investigating.
Officers say it is difficult to determine whether the death was accidental adding there were only bones and some tendons still present.
This is a developing story.
