LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A large protest has shut down roads in the downtown Las Vegas area Saturday evening.
Las Vegas police said in a social media post that Las Vegas Boulevard at Bonneville and Clark Avenues is closed due to the ‘No Kings’ demonstration.
Mayor Shelley Berkley delivered a message ahead of Saturday’s gathering.
“I support everyone’s right to protest and peacefully assemble. These are rights and freedoms guaranteed to all citizens under our constitution. However, I ask that all protests be peaceful and lawful. Demonstrators cross the line when they hurt others, damage property or take over our roadways. I strongly urge restraint and good judgment on the part of protestors and law enforcement,” the mayor of Las Vegas said.
This is a developing story.
