LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Clark County is still growing, but UNLV’s Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) now predicts the area will hit 3 million residents about 10 years later than expected.
CBER’s 2026 population forecast moves the 3 million mark from 2045 to 2055.
According to the report, Clark County is projected to add about 204,000 residents over the next decade, which is far fewer than the roughly 347,000 projected last year.

Around 2032, deaths are expected to outnumber births, meaning future growth would depend on attracting and keeping people moving to the area, according to the report.
Officials say despite the slower population outlook, CBER still expects the economy to grow, with about 117,000 new jobs projected from 2026 to 2036.
