LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — South Point hosted a FIFA World Cup round of 32 watch party, USA versus Bosnia, and the energy was electric.
At first impression, The Showroom at the Southpoint is the venue to watch any sporting event. Huge screens, lots of seating, and in a snap of a finger, the whole venue was packed. Fans had high expectations for the first half.
“I’d love for it to be 2-0 at halftime, and then we just cruise to the easy victory.”
Easy victory wasn’t that easy. There was an offside call against the US, but we answered back with a late goal. There were high fives, cheering, and noisemakers sounding off. This goal helped ease the fans going into halftime.

“It really made up for the first goal that didn’t count. So they really did clutch up at the end there. It was really exciting.”
The U.S. was up 1-0 going into the second-half, but it wasn’t long until a red card was called against Team USA. And, again, the US answered back with this free kick. This goal solidified the win for Team USA 2-0. For some, it was more than just another win. It showed that we could all come together as one.
“I’ve always been a fan of soccer, but I feel like now that so many countries are coming and that we’re hosting it, some people are seeing how much unity we have.”
