LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Sphere Entertainment is gearing up to celebrate the first anniversary of The Wizard of Oz debuting at its renowned venue this August.
Since opening on August 28, 2025, the hit show has generated over $450 million in ticket sales and welcomed more than 3.6 million guests spanning all 50 states and over 140 countries.
“The response to The Wizard of Oz at Sphere continues to exceed expectations, with millions of guests from around the world experiencing the film in a transformative new way,” said Jen Koester, President and Chief Operating Officer, Sphere.
“It’s been rewarding to see first-time visitors and lifelong fans alike create new memories with The Wizard of Oz at Sphere, and our anniversary celebration is both a thank you to those who have made the experience a success and an invitation for new guests to experience the wonder for themselves.”

Additionally, the show has run more than 850 times, allowing fans to experience it through Sphere’s 160,000-square-foot LED media plane, a 167,000-speaker Sphere Immersive Sound system, haptic seats, and 4D effects.
Other highlights marking the milestone include:
- More than 675,000 apples dropped
- More than 8,000 butterfly flights
- More than 6,500 pounds of leaves blown
- More than 3,200 winged monkey flights
Guests attending the upcoming shows can catch exclusive in-venue anniversary activations starting Monday, August 10 through Wednesday, September 30.
