LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament has come to an end in Las Vegas, with a man from Washington taking home highly-anticipating main event prize.
Lucas Jumalon, a 22-year-old from Spokane, won the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, taking home the historic $10,000,000 first-place prize and the championship bracelet.
Tournament officials say Jumalon navigated a field of 9,208 participants, all of whom paid a $10,000 buy-in, before defeating Finnish pro Lauri Saaskilahti. He still earned a $6,000,000 payout as the runner-up, highlighting the massive $4 million pay jump between the top two spots.

Jumalon joins elite company as one of the youngest World Champions of Poker in history, falling just a year shy of Joe Cada’s 2009 age record, according to WSOP.
The Final Table Payouts include:
- 1st: Lucas Jumalon (USA) – $10,000,000
- 2nd: Lauri Saaskilahti (Finland) – $6,000,000
- 3rd: Greg Mueller (Canada) – $3,750,000
- 4th: Michael Gagliano (USA) – $2,750,000
- 5th: Han Feng (USA) – $2,250,000
- 6th–9th: Rami Hammoud, Jamie Shaevel, Mario Boos, Evagoras Evagorou – $1,000,000+ each
The annual tournament returned to Las Vegas on Tuesday, May 26, featuring a revamped lineup designed to build on the momentum of 2025’s record-breaking season, according to officials.
Unlike previous years, which typically began in early July and wrapped up by mid-month, the final event did not kick off until Monday, August 3.
This shift was the result of a new ESPN broadcasting agreement that pushed the finale into August, according to WSOP.
