LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – State grant funding has been cut for a Las Vegas Valley foundation helping blind children.
The Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation has relied on this funding since 2019, but will now have to pause certain programs after cuts made in the past legislative session.
The executive director, Maribel Garcia, says the foundation will have to severely scale things back.
The foundation is relying mainly on donors to help fill in operating costs for the upcoming school year. Right now, they are not sure if they will open in time for the upcoming school year because it’s working on moving to a smaller and more central location.
