LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – 11:20 p.m. UPDATE:

FOX5 sources confirm the man accused of throwing a dog into a dumpster and driving off is now in custody.

The incident took place around 9:14 a.m. Monday where the suspect was caught on camera dangling the dog by his legs and leaving it in a dumpster.

The Vegas Pet Rescue Project was contacted about 24 hours later and took the dog into their care Tuesday morning.

The dog was taken to Horizon Ridge Animal Hospital around noon on Tuesday. At the time they believed his name was Atreyu, sources have now confirmed the dogs name is Marley.

Sources say, the suspect is not Marley’s owner, but he lived with the dog.
