Grapevine Fire
The Grapevine Fire has burned 6,000 acres and is 0% contained. Located approximately 10 miles southeast of Caliente within the Clover Mountain Wilderness Area, the fire is burning in steep, rugged terrain with timber fuels. Fire behavior remains extreme, with strong winds driving rapid fire spread, torching in heavier vegetation, and embers igniting spot fires ahead of the main fire perimeter.
Crews will continue suppression operations utilizing existing road systems, previous burn scars, and aerial resources to support containment strategies on both incidents.
Winds are expected to decrease somewhat on Saturday. Occasional gusts, hot temperatures, and critically dry fuels will continue to support active fire behavior and the potential for rapid fire growth.
There are currently no evacuations in place. Officials ask the public to remain vigilant, avoid activities that could spark a wildfire, and give firefighters the space they need to work safely.
