LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police are investigating the shooting death of an unhoused man found in a parking lot near the 1200 block of Southeastern Avenue.
Investigators believe the shooting happened early that morning. The victim is described as a Black man in his 40s.
Lt. Robert Price of LVMPD Homicide addressed the case.
“At approximately 2 p.m., LVMPD dispatch received a call for service related to an unhoused individual lying unresponsive in a parking lot. Officers from Downtown Area Command along with medical responded and upon their arrival they located that individual and unfortunately he was deceased. A closer exam of the body by medical determined that individual had been shot,” Price said.
Detectives are reviewing ShotSpotter data. Anyone with information is asked to call LVMPD Homicide or Crime Stoppers of Nevada to remain anonymous.
