LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — UNLV football saw a league-high five players earn spots on the 2026 Preseason All-Mountain West Team, which was released Wednesday to kick off the conference’s Old Trapper Football Media Days being held at the Palms Resort for the first time.
The total, which tied with New Mexico this year, ranks second in program history behind only the six Rebels named in 2024.

Star running back Jai’Den “Jet” Thomas is a repeat pick as he enters his senior season ranked eighth in school history in career rushing yards (2,457) and fifth in rushing touchdowns (31).
He is joined by offensive lineman Austin Boyd, wide receiver Taeshaun Lyons, defensive lineman Lucas Conti and safety Jake Pope on this year’s team.
Under the direction of second-year head coach Dan Mullen, the Rebels will kick off their 59th season of football August 29 by hosting Memphis in a highly anticipated Week Zero national matchup on FOX TV.
