LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — CCSD says repairs are underway for one of its bus yards after a car struck a transformer and interrupted the property’s power.
Officials with the Clark County School District said on Monday that a non-district vehicle struck a transformer that supplies power to the maintenance and transportation yard. Officials say it caused interruptions to the site’s electrical equipment.
Officials say the necessary repairs are underway, and service is expected to be restored Tuesday. The district says power will remain off where necessary until repairs are complete.
CCSD says the buses operating out of the Arville Yard will continue to serve students. Maintenance staff were relocated to other yards.
Administration remains on site to support other drivers and repair technicians, and office staff have been reassigned to other locations to communicate with drivers on their routes.
FOX5 also reached out to NV Energy. They said their crews responded to the property Monday afternoon and de-energized the facility per the customer’s request.
This is a developing story. Check back later for updates.
