LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Clark County broke ground Tuesday on an expansion and renovation of the West Flamingo Senior Center, adding roughly 2,400 square feet to the facility on the west side.
The project includes nearly 2,000 square feet of new multipurpose space for classes and activities. The interior layout will also be reworked to improve accessibility and make it easier for older adults to move through the building.

Commission Chair Michael Naft attended the groundbreaking alongside county leaders and crews.
“I’ve gone to some classes here where we are literally arm to arm exercising,” Naft said. “We have had to turn away people at our Thanksgiving dinners and holiday events, and we don’t want that to be the way. If people want to participate, if they enjoy coming and being together as a community, we need to make sure that they have the physical space to do that.”
The county said the upgrade is designed to serve a growing community of active older adults in the area.
