LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Wetlands Park will be closed on Tuesday after a man with a knife was seen threatening a motorist, according to Clark County.

At approximately 2 a.m., Las Vegas police responded to a call about a man armed with knives confronting a motorist near the park. About an hour later, the suspect called police to inform them that he was planning to do damage “within the park.”

Police located the suspect, who fled on foot when confronted by police. He has not been located since.

The park will remain closed – including the Nature Center, Nature Preserve, and Duck Creek Trailhead – out of an abundance of caution as the Office of Public Safety continues to monitor the area.
