LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in North Las Vegas early Saturday morning.

North Las Vegas Police said the crash happened in the area of 5th Street near Brooks Avenue shortly after midnight. NLVPD said it was a reported crash involving a car and a pedestrian.

NLVPD said a woman in her 30′s was lying in the roadway and was hit by a vehicle. Police said she was pronounced dead on scene. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will identify the woman once next of kin is notified.

Police searched the area nearby and located a black 2019 Dodge Charger with “extensive” front damage. NLVPD said they determined the car was involved in the crash. Investigators believed that the Charger was traveling southbound on 5th Street and that the woman was in the roadway “for unknown reasons.” Police said the Charger hit the pedestrian and kept driving until he stopped nearby.

NLVPD said the driver, 24-year-old Donald Boike, was arrested and booked into North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center. Boike is facing hit-and-run related charges.

Police believe speed was a factor in the crash.
