LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Clark County commissioners were presented a debriefing report regarding the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Within the presentation were highlights, challenges and productivity feedback for all departments involved in the major sports event. County manager, Kevin Schiller, also provided what could be improved moving forward.

County Public Works, the Las Vegas Valley Water District, the Southern Nevada Health District and the fire department were all discussed.

In the presentation, officials said the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department will have their own review of their role into last year’s race this spring.

In terms of the economic impact, the presentation says it totaled to $329 million excluding land acquisition costs and out-of-market purchases. The Las Vegas Grand Prix spent nearly $88 million on public infrastructure.

The presentation says that visitor spending totaled to $884 million.

“Grand Prix visitors spent 3.6 times the typical traveler,” the presentation revealed. “[Visitors] stayed 4.1 nights and spent more than $4,100 per trip.”
