LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A pedestrian critically injured earlier this month in a crash at Sahara Avenue and Torrey Pines Drive has died, Las Vegas police said in an update.

According to the Clark County Coroner’s Office, the 66-year-old pedestrian died July 21.

The crash happened around 7:49 p.m. July 3 at the Sahara Avenue and Torrey Pines Drive intersection, police said.

Investigators said evidence indicated a 2010 Mazda 3 was traveling south on Torrey Pines in a dedicated left-turn lane and turned left at the intersection.

At the same time, a pedestrian was crossing Sahara Avenue on the east side of the intersection from north to south when the vehicle struck the pedestrian, police said.

The pedestrian was projected onto the roadway. The car stopped east of the intersection, according to police.

The driver, a 17-year-old female, remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, police said. Police identified a passenger as Emmanual Romano, 19. Neither the driver nor the passenger were injured.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office is expected to release more details on the identity of the 66-year-old pedestrian.

Police said the death marks the 67th traffic-related fatality in the department’s jurisdiction in 2026 so far. The collision remains under investigation.
