LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — 911 calls have been released from a shooting that left a city of Las Vegas employee dead. The suspect was a coworker, police say.
The calls reflect a chaotic situation after a fight broke out between the suspect, 31-year-old Brysen Kim, and the victim, Joey McLean.
“Are you guys able to render aid?” a dispatcher said.
“I’m scared, please. I’m scared, please. Please,” a caller responded.
“I understand, take a deep breath for me,” the dispatcher said.
In an arrest report, Kim told police that McLean threatened him with a gun before the shooting. A supervisor also told police he heard Kim and McLean arguing, then saw Kim punch McLean. When supervisors tried to pull Kim back, they say he broke free, pulled a gun and shot McLean.

One caller told 911 that they got the suspect to give up the weapon.
“I told him to drop his weapon, and he’s outside,” the caller said.
“All right,” the dispatcher said.
“Employee’s inside,” the caller said.
“Is the other person who shot him? Did he drop his weapon?” the dispatcher asked.
“Yes, I have it on the desk right now,” the caller said.
Kim told detectives he felt McLean was sabotaging equipment and that he’d followed him home at least once, making him fear for his family. Kim is facing a murder charge. He is due back in court Monday for a bail hearing.
Metro police previously said the suspect himself called 911 after the shooting. Based on the redacted tapes, it’s unclear which call came from the suspect.
