LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – This year’s Las Vegas Food & Wine Festival has officially been canceled — and organizers say next year’s event may be in trouble too.

The cancellation was initially announced on the festival’s website. However, organizers tell FOX5 that a “double-booking” with the venue has left this year’s festivities up in the air.

The festival was set to take place from October 2-6 at Resorts World. However, the abrupt cancellation has left organizers in financial trouble.

“We have tried [to find another venue] and not have been successful,” a festival spokesperson told FOX5. “I am not sure if we can afford to get it together again for next year, it might be financially difficult unless one of the properties helps us.”

The Las Vegas Food & Wine Festival offers a one-of-a-kind experience of chef-curated cuisine, as well as top-shelf spirits and wine. Proceeds from the event are donated to a local organization and charity after the celebrations conclude.

Those who purchased tickets for the event will be issued refunds.

FOX5 has also reached out to Resorts World for comment on the event’s cancellation but has not heard back.
