RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Douglas County Commissioner Danny Tarkanian has announced a bid to become the next Attorney General for the state of Nevada.
In a statement made to his Facebook page on Wednesday, Tarkanian said he would prioritize public safety and defense of the Constitution.
Calling himself a proven conservative, Tarkanian said he is running to stop what he says is the left’s political lawfare, and to restore the rule of law.
Tarkanian was the 2004 Republican nominee for the State Senate before running as the GOP nominee for Congress in 2016.
He was elected to the Douglas County Commission in 2020.
Tarkanian is running to replace current Attorney General Aaron Ford, who announced his intention to run for Governor.
