LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in North Las Vegas Monday night, police say.
The North Las Vegas Police Department said the crash happened around 11:05 p.m. near North 5th Street and Washburn Drive.
When officers arrived, they found a woman who later died at the scene. She was riding a Yamaha R6 motorcycle. Another woman was riding ahead of her and stayed at the scene.
The second woman was not injured, police say.
According to NLVPD’s Major Collision Investigation Unit, both motorcyclists rode southbound on North 5th Street, approaching Washburn. Police said the victim’s motorcycle hit a raised center median. The motorcyclist veered across all southbound lanes, jumped a curb and hit a wooden utility pole.
Police say impairment was not a factor, but did not confirm if speed was involved.
The identification of the deceased, along with the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
