LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Animal Foundation announced that it is reaching a crisis state after taking in nearly 1,000 animals recently.
“We are in a critical space crisis due to the high number of animals flooding into The Animal Foundation,” it revealed on its website. “Over the last two weeks, we have taken in 917 animals!”
The foundation said it currently has over 744 animals in its care and that they are out of room to house any more dogs on campus. It added that it will be facing some “very difficult decisions to ensure the well-being of our animals and team.”
“This is our heartbreaking reality. We simply do not have room for the new animals that are coming in every day.”

The post went on to specify that the facility urgently needs 50 dogs of any size to go into temporary foster homes. The Animal Foundation is asking those interested to foster a dog six months of age or older for at least a week.
No appointment is necessary. People interested in fostering can come directly to the adoptions building from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The foundation noted that it is normally closed on Mondays but will be open on Feb. 19 due to the severity of the situation.
A list of dogs in need of fostering is available here. Filling out an application beforehand would expedite the process, and that can be done here.
There is no cost to foster. The Animal Foundation will provide you with food, crates, a leash, or anything you might need. If you end up falling in love with your foster dog and want to make it permanent, they will waive the dog’s adoption fee.
