LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The suspect involved in a police shooting and barricade incident Tuesday evening has been identified.

According to court records, George Barrios is facing multiple felony charges, including assault of a protected person, resisting a public officer, and a prohibited person with a firearm.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said it happened just before 5 p.m. on April 21, in the 200 block of North 11th Street, near Ogden Avenue.

Police said the suspect was reported to have created a disturbance at a nearby apartment complex and destroyed property.

When police located the Barrios, he was armed with a gun, which led police to fire at Barrios.

He then barricaded himself for several hours, said officials.

According to police, the suspect or officers who responded did not suffer any injuries.

LVMPD reports this is the 4th Las Vegas Metro Police shooting in 2026 so far.

Barrios is expected to appear in court at 1:30 p.m.
