LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Adam Price, a local estate planner and head of the Henderson Democratic Club, is running for Henderson mayor on a grassroots platform focused on affordability and rejecting corporate donations.
In an interview with FOX5, Price outlined why he believes he is the best candidate for the position.
“Out of all the people in this race, me and Ms. Romero are the only two that are actually have been involved in politics,” Price said. “I’ve been the chairman of the Democratic Party. I’ve been meeting with people from bus drivers to teachers to city workers. And I am the only one in this race that has not taken big money from big corporations, and I won’t.”
Price said his campaign is a grassroots movement aimed at returning the city to the people of Henderson rather than big corporate interests.
Pay for play concerns
When asked about the biggest issue facing Henderson, Price pointed to what he called “pay for play” politics.
“A bunch of corporations dumping money in pockets to get these people elected and not focusing on what’s good for the people,” Price said. “Instead of accepting money from Southwest Gas and NV Energy, the current mayor should be asking people where their money went.”
Price said the effect on Henderson residents comes down to affordability.
“We’re going to make it fair for everybody to live in Henderson and make sure that Henderson is a place that everybody can call home and not just the wealthy,” Price said.
