LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A driver remained hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on Rancho Drive.

The collision occurred at approximately 12:10 a.m. on Rancho Drive, south of Riverside Drive. A silver Toyota Scion iM was traveling southbound when it failed to maintain its lane and veered left, according to evidence at the scene and witness statements.

The Toyota collided with the center concrete median and continued southbound. The front of the vehicle then struck a light pole and came to rest on the center median.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. The driver was transported to the University Medical Center Trauma Center for treatment and was admitted.

The driver showed signs of impairment, and a DUI investigation was completed. The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
