LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Dr. Jeff Gunter, a candidate running for Congress, said he is the best choice to challenge incumbent Rep. Susie Lee in Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District.
Why he says he can win
Gunter said his experience as a former U.S. ambassador makes him uniquely positioned to defeat Lee.
“I’m the only person that can beat Susie Lee,” Gunter said. “Former U.S. ambassador. I won a big election to send it 100 to zero.”
Foreign policy and military experience
Gunter pointed to his diplomatic background as a key qualification for the position.
“I have the foreign policy experience. I’ve met foreign ministers, prime ministers, secretaries of state. I’ve worked with the president of the United States,” Gunter said.
He said he has written bills and worked with military leadership, including generals at the Pentagon.
Medical practice in Nevada
Gunter said he has treated over 30,000 patients in Nevada as a dermatologist.
“They come into my office. I treat their skin cancer and it’s been 30,000 of them,” Gunter said.
He said his experience in government and his relationships make him qualified to represent Nevada.
